Free auto insurance for all
Can anybody get auto insurance?
Rufus
Yep.
However, that doesn’t mean that it will be as easy for you to get car insurance as anyone else. Every state has certain laws concerning why and why not car insurance companies can deny you insurance. They can’t deny it to you based on the obvious things, such as race or gender, nor can they deny it to you based on geographic location. In order for a car insurance company to deny you auto insurance coverage, they have to have a very good reason since coverage is required by the law of every state in the country.
If you have lots of previous at fault claims in your driving history, you can either expect high rates or no rates. Same goes if you have a lot, or sometimes even one speeding ticket. You’re definitely going to have problems if you’ve had a DUI conviction and are on SR-22 car insurance, and you’ll probably still have problems if you’ve just been arrested for DUI. If you misrepresent yourself in the application process, then you’re going to have trouble getting insured.
However, if you come across any of these problems, that doesn’t mean that you are absolutely going to be without car insurance. As mentioned, it’s law, so ways are provided. There are special companies that charge more to insure people who have DUIs, bad driving records, and the like. And if even that doesn’t work for you, there are always the state risk pools which every state has. In these, you can’t choose your company, but the state has free auto insurance assignments, and they have to take you. However, the prices are much higher.
