Reader question:

Can I get insured with my motorcycle on my car insurance policy?

Edgard

Yep.

Almost all of the car insurance companies out there will give you an option to do this. Normally this will be under the area of miscellaneous vehicles where you will put your motorcycle. In some states, though, you don’t need to insure your motorcycle if you aren’t driving it. For example, if you only drive your motorcycle in the summer in New York, you just have to fill out a form so that you don’t need auto insurance.

If you don’t have a car and only have a motorcycle, then you might need to go with a company that insures motorcycles on their own vehicle insurance policies. One such company is Progressive. Another one is GEICO.
