Car Insurance Claim Complaint

The insurance department in your state is taking care of complaints all of the time, and the volume of those complaints often reaches into the thousands every year. And the slight doesn’t even have to be extremely serious for you to want to get it handled. People give complaint about things like unsatisfactory customer service from a company, to the much more serious car insurance claim complaints that people make when the handling of their claim by the car insurance company wasn’t fair to them. If at anytime you are slighted by your car insurance company, filing a complaint is well within your rights.

It’s a good idea to be educated about this from the get go, because if you ever actually need to file a complaint, getting to know what your rights are could delay your need significantly, and time is important when the amount you get from your claim is what your ability to get the proper repairs for your car or the proper medial care for your body depend on. So, the first thing that you should do even before you go and get cheap car insurance quotes online or take out a policy from a company, is to check out your state department of insurance website and see what it says about auto insurance complaints.

Normally, your site will be up with the 21st century and you’ll be able to to get a complaint form online to either fill out there and submit, or print out and send in through snail mail. On the website it will have the steps that you need to go through to make the complaint, and once you know those steps you need to start documenting. Claims department numbers will usually connect you to a huge call center, where you will need to depend on whichever different representative that you talk to every time to keep an accurate record of your conversation. I advise that you not rely on them, and instead keep your own records, so that you have something to back yourself up if you ever need to file a complaint. As soon as you have all of your documentation ready, you can officially complain.

What happens next depends on the kind of documentation that you provided the department of insurance with.If it wasn’t enough, then they will ring you up and request that you send in some more. If it wasn’t enough, then they will send info to the insurance company and get its side of the story. If the insurance company’s side of the story convinces them, they will then contact you to explain why. If not, then they will assign someone to you in order that they work with you and get your complaint figured out with the car insurance company. However, you have to realize that that person is not a lawyer. If you have a lot of money on the line concerning this complaint, then it might be a good idea for you to get an attorney to help out as well.

Cheers,
